2008 Eight local business leaders and long-time business & community leaders were honored at the Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Salute to Business and Industry Awards banquet with 250 people in attendance at the Centerton Country Club on October 28, 2008.

2002 Three local business leaders and a long time business & community leader were honored at the Greater Bridgeton area Chamber of Commerce's annual awards banquet with over 200 people in attendance at the Cohanzick Country Club.
Carolyn Heckman, long time executive director and president of the chamber was awarded the Francis F. Sharp lifetime achievement award, named for the late long-time Chamber director and civic activist, "Binks" Sharp. Carolyn S. Heckman, honored for her exemplary leadership and commitment to the region.
Retail award was given to Bruce and Zina Peterson, owners of the Hopewell Sub & Pizza. Bruce & Zina bought the business in 1978 and expanded to a larger building in 1990 were their business has flourished.
Agriculture award went to Anthony Sparacio, III, owner of Maple Valley Nursery. In his 20's Anthony has been in business for seven years expanding from a small variety of Azaleas and rhododendrons on a half of acre of ground to 15 acres and over 60 varieties of plants.
Service award went to Dennis Koller and Barry Spindler who operate the Barton F. Sharp & Son insurance agency. Barton F. Sharp was founded in 1898. and was located in the city of Bridgeton until they recently moved to a larger office space in Upper Deerfield Twp. Barry Spindler who joined the company in 1961 sold his interest in the business to Tri-County Insurance of Pennsville in 1998, but remained associated with the business. Dennis was hired in 1985 as office manager, now serves as the company's vice president.
